When you turn 65 in the US, you are now eligible for Medicare coverage. You are eligible. Eligible. That doesn’t mean that you have to go and sign up. That doesn’t mean that you should go and sign up. It only means that you are eligible.
What it does mean, in my opinion, is to find someone qualified to talk through the “should I go sign up for Medicare conversation”. That someone is typically not going to be your sibling, your friends, your physician or your dentist. Find someone that knows the ropes of Medicare like we do here at Boomer Healthcare.
Often, after our workshops or seminars, we’ll get that phone call asking about enrolling into a Medigap program. They say “I never heard the word Medigap until I heard you speak and I’d like to get that policy. I’ve had cancer treatments and it’s costing me a lot of money”. Unfortunately, we often can help that person at that time. Maybe down the road we can and we’ll monitor that. The sad part is that the person comes to us and always says “I just didn’t know where to go to ask the questions”.
We work in all states to answer all questions. If we don’t know the answer, we’ll help you find the answer. No one should be dealing the repercussions of poor mistakes because they didn’t know where to go.
